Masters of the Universe

Masters of the Universe bursts onto the screen (by the power of Greyskull) with thunderous energy and the kind of heroic swagger that reminds you why epic fantasy-action blockbusters are pure cinema joy. From the very first electrifying transformation, it’s clear this film has the power to breathe new life into this much loved 1980’s TV series.

The film’s story follows Prince Adam’s evolution from uncertain youth to the mighty He-Man, framed by sweeping battles, neon-infused cosmic landscapes and a pulsing synth-fantasy aesthetic. The action set pieces and CGI visuals are all eye popping but also manage to balance these with the characters journeys adding some heart and soul to the film.

Nicholas Galitzine fresh from the success of Red, White & Royal Blue, brings charisma and emotional weight to the role of He-Man, Camila Mendes (Riverdale), adds sharp wit and heart as Teela, while Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) commands the screen as Man-At-Arms. Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club and Suicide Squad) brings some old school bad guy threat as Skeletor. Critical and audience reactions have praised the film’s world-building, visual ambition as well as fun and nostalgic yet modern tone. If you were a fan of the original TV series or if you are new to He-Man, you are sure to enjoy the cinematic ride of The Masters of the Universe.

If you enjoyed Thor (2011) and Warcraft (2016) you are likely to enjoy the Masters of the Universe.
