Finding Emily

Funny, heartfelt and bursting with modern romantic energy, Finding Emily is the feel-good British rom-com audiences have been waiting for. Sharp, charming and emotionally honest, this uplifting romantic comedy delivers hearty laugh-out-loud moments alongside genuine warmth and beautifully awkward chemistry.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Manchester University, the story follows Owen, a lovestruck young musician who is accidentally given the wrong phone number after meeting the mysterious Emily during a night out. Determined to find her, he teams up with ambitious psychology student Sami, sparking a chaotic campus-wide search filled with misunderstandings, hilarious encounters and unexpected emotional connections. As the pair grow closer, the film cleverly explores themes of modern dating, ambition, loneliness and the unpredictability of love. Director Alicia MacDonald gives the film an energetic visual style with colourful city cinematography, witty dialogue and a wonderfully contemporary British atmosphere.

Angourie Rice shines following her success in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while Spike Fearn, acclaimed for Alien: Romulus, brings warmth and humour to Owen. The ever wonderful Minnie Driver, beloved for Good Will Hunting, adds charisma and heart in a memorable supporting role. Audience and critical feedback has been good praising the film’s chemistry, humour and refreshing take on the classic rom-com formula.
