The Pout-Pout Fish (Autism Friendly)

The Pout-Pout Fish is a joyful underwater adventure overflowing with laughter, heart and dazzling animation that will enchant the whole family. Colourful, funny and wonderfully uplifting, this delightful animated family adventure comedy transforms a beloved children’s book into a magical big-screen experience.

The story follows the gloomy but kind-hearted Mr. Fish, whose quiet life is turned upside down when he meets the energetic young sea dragon Pip. After an accident leaves both their homes in ruins, the unlikely pair embark on an exciting quest to find the legendary Shimmer, whose magical powers could save their underwater world. Along the way they encounter memorable sea creatures, discover the value of friendship and learn that appearances can often be deceiving. Packed with vibrant animation, imaginative underwater landscapes and plenty of humour, the film explores themes of self-belief, kindness, teamwork, courage and embracing who you truly are.

Nick Offerman, who delighted audiences in The LEGO Movie (2014), leads the voice cast alongside Amy Sedaris from Puss in Boots (2011), while Miranda Otto, celebrated for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), brings warmth and wisdom to her role. Early audiences and reviewers have praised the film’s charming visuals, positive messages, engaging voice performances and heartfelt storytelling, making it a thoroughly enjoyable family adventure.

If you enjoyed Finding Nemo (2003) or The Little Mermaid (1989) then The Pout-Pout Fish is one for you.
