Mercy

Mercy hits the screen with a blast of futuristic energy and edge-of-your-seat urgency that sci-fi fans will absolutely relish, this is high-octane action wrapped in a thoughtful techno-thriller that grabs you from the first heartbeat! In a near-future Los Angeles where justice is measured in milliseconds, Mercy challenges how we think about truth, technology and what it means to be human.

Set in 2029, the story follows LAPD detective Chris Raven, played with compelling intensity by Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World), who finds himself accused of murdering his own wife by the very AI courtroom system he helped build. With only 90 minutes to prove his innocence, every second is a pulse-pounding blend of digital sleuthing and emotional stakes. Opposing him, yet strangely guiding him, is Rebecca Ferguson (Dune: Part Two, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One) as Judge Maddox, an eerily charming and inscrutable AI. Kali Reis (Catch the Fair One) adds grit and heart as Chris’ trusted partner, Jaq, bringing a grounded emotional core to the high-tech thriller.

Visually striking with its slick “screenlife” stylistic flourishes, Mercy isn’t just a chase against time, it’s a thought provoking exploration of artificial intelligence, digital surveillance and the fragile nature of justice in a high-tech world. On the big screen its immersive quality turns every twist into a cinematic thrill, earning it some positive buzz from critics and audiences. If you love smart, speculative, sci-fi or action packed films with lots of ideas then this one is for you.

You might enjoy Mercy, if you liked Minority Report (2002) and Source Code (2011)
