FOUR ACTS, ONE GREAT NIGHT OF COMEDY
Steve H Allen, Eleanor Tiernan and Milo McCabe
Our Headline act, Gary Delaney is an award-winning stand-up.
Delaney's last tour was extended four times and took in over 240 dates. His new tour will once again showcase exactly why he is seen as one of the premier gagsmiths of his generation.
One-liner king Delaney has a simple philosophy when it comes to jokes:
"A good joke should be like a drunk Glaswegian, short and punchy."
Through Twitter and TV, where he has been a regular on Mock The Week, Delaney has become one of the most quotable comedians in the country. He recently won Celebrity 15 to 1 and will soon be seen on Celebrity Mastermind and Celebrity University Challenge for team LSE, with his old university mate Martin Lewis (from MoneySavingExpert.com) who encouraged Gary to make his comedy bow. His other TV and radio credits include Robert's Web (Channel 4) and Loose Ends (BBC Radio 4).
Delaney has won two Sony Awards, as well as receiving a Chortle Award nomination. He's also a regular writer for shows including Cats Does Countdown, A League Of Their Own, Live At The Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance, and his jokes have twice appeared in Dave's Top 10 Funniest Jokes from the Edinburgh Fringe.
Steve N Allen
Steve is an experienced comedian at home in any slot on the bill, with a warm and upbeat act that soon connects with any audience. His material ranges from an observational look at life to up to date topical comedy or shows solely based on the interaction with the crowd.
As a stand-up Steve has performed all across the UK in clubs including The Comedy Store, Comedy Cafe and Up The Creek, as well as performing at comedy festivals in Edinburgh, Brighton and Leicester with versions of his solo topical comedy show that dissects the news and how we use it.
"Allen hits the mark, with an effusive mix of biting satire and gleeful mud-slinging that recalls Russell Howard by way of Ian Hislop. More than worth a look." -Three
Eleanor Tiernan abandoned her civil engineering training to become a stand-up in 2004 – and within her first year appeared on RTE’s The Liffey Laughs and BBC’s One Night Stand.
In 2007, she starred in the Edinburgh Fringe play Help!, and made her solo show debut the following year. She then played to more than 120,000 people as the support act for her cousin, Tommy Tiernan, on his Bovinity tour,
She also played the ditzy waitress, Emer, on RTE2’s youth-orientated chat show The Cafe.
Milo McCabe is a character comedian with over ten years experience on the circuit. He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh show award and was listed as GQ's Top Ten comedy shows of the festival. TV credits include ITV'S Benidorm, BBC3's Live at the Electric and various hidden camera and talking heads projects on Channel 4 and 5. As himself, he is shortly to appear in US documentary 'Everyone has an Andy Dick story'.
As Troy Hawke he is currently touring comedy clubs and festivals in preparation for his 2017 show Troy Hawke is an erudite homeschooled 1930's throwback...the Errol Flynn of the high street. Educated, sophisticated, but utterly clueless. He tackles modern issues head on in his uniquely untimely manner.
'undeniably funny' (Chortle)... 'mad comic genius' (The Scotsman) 'Near perfect character comedy' (The New Current)
